A lifelong Methodist, Allison is a career journalist who writes about agriculture, international development and environmental sustainability. She began working with youth programs in the Methodist church in 2012 and has a deep commitment to empowering the poor and advocating for social justice.
Though her “Spanglish” is still shaky, Allison travels regularly to Nicaragua where she works in schools and with the church. Most recently, she has coordinated communications for USAID’s peanut innovation program in the U.S., Africa and Haiti.
She and her husband Bill live in Normaltown with their old hound dog, Harvey, and young cattle dog, Dottie.
